Small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) are increasingly embracing mobile and social platforms for improving operational efficiencies and promotion, according to the latest findings from the Local Commerce Monitor, research firm BIA/Kelsey's ongoing study of the advertising behaviors of midmarket companies.
In addition to mobile marketing, businesses are starting to utilize mobile payments and social media as part of their strategy. Steve Marshall, director of research at BIA/Kelsey, says
"Together, mobile and social tools are transforming the way SMBs acquire and retain customers... With the heavy use of social media, SMB marketing is quickly becoming a two-way engagement rather than a one-way promotion."
